Good tax software (2010-03-10) : 4/5
Good tax software. I have been using TurboTax for 10+ years and am very satisfied.
TurboTax Premier 2009 (2010-03-09) : 5/5
Continuation of the annual TurboTax software for income tax preparations. Introduces a revised format for the "guided" Step-by Step process for completing tax forms. A section overview page contains a topic heading along with previous year data and current data. You just enter personal data, income and deduction data and TT Premier fills out the necessary forms and calculates your taxes (and refund if its due). Includes a TT community of tax questions submitted by other users along with responses from them, including those from "superusers". Of course if you just want to complete one or more of the tax forms, TT Premier has an option for doing that too. Software is a bit expensive if you file just one return but with its purchase you can file up to 5 returns electronically at no additional charge. Can't say this makes filing "fun" but it makes it a lot easier than reading IRS instructions!
Turbo tax feedback (2010-03-09) : 5/5
The product I purchased was just what was described by the seller. Brand new in box and works perfectly. Received it within three days from order date. No hassles, just the way I like it.
Too expensive (2010-03-09) : 3/5
Used it for years, seems to work, except maybe once, but wish TaxCut was a more formable competitor so the price would come back down. Just because I have mutual funds I feel I need to buy the Premier edition, Deluxe should include this since many people own at least a few funds.
Beat H&R deluxe and I got $1100!! (2010-03-08) : 5/5
I used H&R at Home this year and it missed the college tax credit. Turbo Tax got it right the first time. If you are using other tax software, why not use Turbo Tax on-line as a test of your return. If it saves you money, buy it.
I knew I qualified for the college tax credit this year, but H&R stopped at the Tuition deduction. Big difference. Like about $1000. H&R didn't catch the Making Work pay deduction at first.
I brought two pieces of software this year, but not next year!!
California returns were identical.
I did download Turbo Tax and that worked out okay. I got the CA form without a problem. I do think the Amazon Downloader is a hassle, but the download was flawless.
