TurboTax Deluxe Federal + eFile + State 2009

Unbelievable. Such a waste of time and money (2010-08-18) : 1/5
I have been a happy TurboTax customer for many years. And then came 2009. There were some bugs within the program (even after updating) which were hard to work around, but I managed to figure them out. I filed my federal return but ran out of ink before I could print out the forms and file my state taxes.

When I came back to finish my state taxes and print out my taxes for my records, there was an update. Once I updated it said that my file could not be opened because it was created with an older version of TurboTax.

After researching on the internet and finally spending an hour with customer service I was told that the update had destroyed my file and that I would have to recreate my 2009 taxes.

The customer service representative was very friendly, but I would have preferred an unfriendly customer service agent and MY FILE BACK. Over 20-30 hours of work down the drains. Thanks a lot, TurboTax. They did offer me a free 2010 TurboTax product for next year. I said no way. I'm done with TurboTax.

I got it in record time and as it was sold NEW in the box , Good price .

Amazon is so much better than EBAY and no PAYPAL holds your money for a time befor they pay the seller so your things take for ever to come

Priduct was a big help for a rlative who had gotten to the age in life when help was needed to do the federal and state taxes. i already use this product and highly recommend it.
I was fined because Turbotax screwed up (2010-07-15) : 1/5
I was charged $282.71 because TurboTax screwed up. I went back to my return and confirmed: It was not the data I entered; Turbotax screwed it up. I would absolutely never recommend this to anybody under any circumstances.
purchased to add a second state to my computer (2010-07-15) : 4/5
No way to get 2nd state as the free state with the 2nd license on the same computer without overwriting the first turbo tax program. Ended up emailing and calling Intuit. The calling was waste of more than half an hour with a tech support/customer svc rep in India. He didn't understand my issue and didn't have a clue on how to solve it except to agree with my guess that the only way to use the 2nd state was to install it on a different computer. However the email response was much better. They just loaded a free state into my account for me to download. So I thank Intuit for that. Turbo tax is the only program supported by Fidelity for their download data. They do not support Tax Cut. And I have been using it for years. Not perfect but does a decent job. What I don't like is that if you go back to change an answer to an interview question you get unpredictable and different results. It doesn't change the consequences of that change. I sometimes find it is better to start a whole new tax return and put in the correct answer rather than try going back to make a change.
